The first
Brantford Herbal Magic opened on Charing Cross Street in 1996. When their
weight loss program began making a significant impact on local residents,
demand for their services went up. And in 1998, so did a second Herbal Magic
centre - located on King George Road and another on Ontario Street in
Stratford (double check address). Since then, these three centres have been
providing weight loss and nutrition advice, moral support, and life-changing
advice to Brantford and Stratford residents.
We sat down
with Herbal Magic manager, Sandra Pusey, to find out how she, alongside her
staff, cater to the goals of The Ring's brides and their bridal parties.
The big question
When it
comes to the subject of any weight loss program, most people's first
instinct is to ask, 'does it work?'. But in Herbal Magic's case, just about
everyone already knows someone who has been successful on the Herbal Magic
program.
Before we
interviewed Herbal Magic for a review in The Ring, several of our staff
members had already spoken to previous clients, seen real results up close, and
actually gone through the program themselves. What we found was that Herbal Magic not only honours the
goals, timeframe, lifestyle, and needs of everyday people, but offers a
program that seems like it was created for brides.
The Herbal Magic way
There are so
many 'weight loss' products and programs on the market that it’s easy to

bride really needs and wants. They know that once you've booked the hall and
put a deposit on the photographer, your deadline has become very real. Some

your family, eating foods you love... and losing weight while you do. One of

heard so many times in The Ring's interviews with clients, your personal
health counselors act as a support system that you won't just depend on,
you'll come to know as friends.
"We
specialize in the ability to help our clients achieve the weight loss to
feel better about themselves and enjoy life to a whole new level," says
Sandra. It's not just about a bride losing twenty pounds. It's about her

Walking you through it
When you
first enter the Charing Cross, King George or Stratford centre, you'll know
right away that you are important. The Herbal Magic counselors are everyday
women - down to earth, realistic and supportive. They want to see you reach
your ideal weight as much as you do. As Tammy, the manager of the King
George centre told us, this isn't just a job to them. "What we love best
about what we do is the change we help make in people’s lives, teaching them
how to eat well and maintaining a healthy exercise regiment. Many of our
clients who first walk into our facility are overwhelmed with feeling very
timid and down about themselves. Seeing them get their self-esteem back is
just so nice to see. It’s amazing how a person's outlook on life can change
for the better when you feel good about yourself."
A
no-obligation consultation will give you a chance to share your story, your
weight loss goals, and your current health situation with someone who truly
cares. After somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half, your personal
health counselor will have created a QLP program that suits who you are as a
person now and where you want to be on your wedding day.
Denise, the
Stratford centre manager, explained in greater detail. "The QLP programs
promote a safe, consistent weight loss, with one-on-one support, while
meeting all your basic nutritional needs. Being able to tailor a program to
each individual need, provide eating plans, offer many different food
options and making healthier choices, is truly what makes this system work!"
When your
program begins, you'll begin visiting the centre on a regular basis to keep
you on track with support, learn more about how to prepare and choose meals
and snacks, and for weigh-ins to document your success. Any questions,
issues, or struggles that come up during your program are easily and openly
discussed with your counselor during these visits.

Sandra also attributes client success to
